YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles proudly held our 141st Annual Celebration Dinner on Wednesday, May 10. It was wonderful to gather with hundreds of our friends and dedicated supporters under the Space Shuttle Endeavor to celebrate the LA Y’s 141-year history of strengthening our local community, benefiting hundreds of thousands of Angelenos. It was an opportunity to not only reflect on the Y’s rich history and significant impact, but also look toward the future of the Y and our pursuit to transform the well-being of our community.
During the event, we paid special tribute to our friend and outgoing Board Chair Andrew Crowell, recognizing his steadfast leadership of the LA Y, especially during a pivotal period for our organization. We are excited to welcome our incoming Board Chair Wendy Greuel, who succeeds Andrew later this year.
The highlight of the Annual Celebration was the induction of this year’s Golden Book Awardees. We recognized John Murillo, Jeff Pion, and John Sinnema for their years of dedicated commitment and selfless service to the Y. It is because of devoted volunteers like John, Jeff, and John that the LA Y is able to provide such impactful services to our local communities.
We want thank the entire Golden Book Award Committee and hosts – including Cristina Rose, Todd Katz, and John Power – for bringing together a truly memorable evening. Thank you to all of the directors, members, volunteers, and staff that were able to join us for this celebratory event.
Thank you for your continued support and helping us celebrate 141 years. We look forward to another 141 years of working together to make possible happen.
